Other Info | Died age 27 (killed in action at Hooge). Son of Mr. John and Mrs. A. J. Loring, of "Longstile," Connaught Road, Fleet, Hants. He was educated at Bradfield Junior School and Haileybury and entered the property business in British Columbia, Canada. Returning to the U.K. on the outbreak of hostilities, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 5th Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment, in December 1914, but was attached to the 3rd Battalion at the time of his death in action in the following year. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. |
