Other Info | He was wounded early on and was sent back to U.K. and admitted to American Women’s War Relief Hospital Paignton (27th Sept 1914) at the time he was still a Private. After recovery he returned to the 3rd Battalion in France. In April 1918 he was captured and became a prisoner of war and was held at Gardelegen POW Camp. Due to ill health he was released later in 1918 and returned to the U.K. The second photo above shows British POW's at Gardelegen Camp in Germany with their German Guards (1918) Sgt. George Victor Huzzey M.M. seen standing on the back row 4th from the right. |
