Other Info | Born abt.1888 Leicester he enlisted in Dudley (short service) aged 18 years 11 months on the 22nd February 1904, by trade he was a porter. After initial training at the Depot he was posted to the 3rd Battalion on the 21st April 1904 and then to the 2nd Battalion on the 3rd November 1905. He served with the 2nd Battalion in Ceylon from 4th November 1905 to 7th January 1907. He was transferred to Army Reserve Section 'B' on the 21st Feb 1907 and mobilized on the 5th August 1914. Posted to 3rd Battalion on the 25th July 1960 and posted back the the 2nd Battalion on the 12th December 1916 after recovering from his wounds.He was wounded a second time on the 29th September 1918 at Cambrai, this time it was a gun shot wound to his left leg. |
